Meet Kimberly Withey
Kimberly
Withey has been with Vibrant Life since January of 2002. Her responsibilities
have grown and branched in many directions during the course of this past year
and a half. Apparently, she was a bit timid at first, relatively
quiet. This seems to have evolved into a much more bold representation
of what she is at the present moment. She is now eager with taking phone
calls and dealing with customers directly and personally. She
even steals the strawberries at the breakfast table! No kidding, everyone
else has to be quick or they will be gone, with nothing more than crimson remnants
of a particular fruit in HER dish.
Duties of Kimberly's run the gambit, covering many areas of the company during the course of the day. She also arrives at 8 am every morning, about an hour before everybody else shows up to work. Kimberly the early bird! The early bird gets the first strawberry as well, apparently.
During morning, she attends to multiple tasks, solo for the first hour, of course. One of her major duties involves the screening of all the email for Karl Loren. He gets so much spam, that it soon became impossible for him to get all the work that he wanted done AND go through the sea of electronic garbage that filtered its way to his domain. So in steps Kimberly. She routes all of the letters via a shared email system set up by the guy writing this right now. Just the routing of messages is not where her duties stop at, however. More and more of the responsibilities of various tasks that Karl has done in past are carefully being passed to other knowledgeable and capable individuals in the company. Karl is shifting the reins of certain customer inquiries over to Kimberly.
Also
during the course of the day, the expected and steady
stream of phone calls make their way in.
It
could either be any sort of question regarding the products sold by Vibrant
Life, an order, or a question that eventually becomes an order! Inquiries
turned satisfied customers are common, being that Kimberly has the knack to
talk in a relatable way to the everyday person.
Included with the duties of taking the orders and speaking to the customers, Kimberly's job involves the entry of the orders received. After speaking with the customer, Kimberly then enters the information into a database system.
While Kimberly's responsibilities behind the desk are many, she finds equal commitment to duties that involve the physical shipping and moving of the product itself. This involves taking the order forms and customer information to where the products are sent from.
Kimberly is a committed and hardworking employee here at Vibrant Life. In addition to her duties in the company, she has interesting qualities as a person. Because I am not Kimberly, I decided it would be best to ask her to tell any information that she felt was pertinent to the knowledge of the customers here at Vibrant Life. After all, we don't have sterile and soulless robots do the work here. People do.
In the Words of Kimberly.....
Cultural Background

My father is full blooded American Indian (Cherokee). I have an uncle who lives on the Hopi reservation in Arizona with his wife, who is a Hopi Princess.
Although I was baptized as a Methodist I
was much more interested in the Indian
religion and my father was very willing to teach me. He taught
me some of the language, but I don't remember much of it. The one thing
I do remember is him calling me "owa" (which means owl) When I asked him why he
said because I wasn't much of a talker, but was constantly staring, checking
things out with my eyes.
I have always loved animals.
I was constantly bringing home baby birds that had fallen out of their nest. I distinctly remember walking down an alley and seeing a possum that had got hit by a car. The possum was dead, but had a tiny hairless baby squirming inside its pouch. Its head and half of its body was sticking out. Without hesitation I reached into the dead animal and pulled the rest of the baby out. It was slimy and smelly, but alive. I took it home, washed it and wrapped it in a towel. Promptly I went to the store, bought special milk and an eyedropper. The baby possum lived and after a couple of weeks, I called a shelter that was specifically designed for such animals and handed the baby over.

Recently, I had an experience that involved a puppy. Someone had thrown a puppy out of a car. She smelled like oil, had ticks, and paint that I had to cut out of her fur. She couldn't have been more than six weeks old. This happened up north near Fresno. No one wanted her so I drove back to LA with her. For over a week, I tried to find a home for her, while sneaking her in and out of my apartment for days. I refused to take her to the pound. I wanted to make sure she got a good home. She deserved it, after all the trauma she had gone through at such an early age. I was able to find her a good home. Now he lives in a house with a large yard, and three kids who adore her and spoil her. All she wanted was someone to love her.
I have always related to animals better than people. Animals are simple: all they want is love, play, and cuddle. They never judge. No matter what happens in life, they're always right by your side.
By the way, Kimberly also likes horses!
When
I was a young girl I was very much into riding horses. I took lessons
for many years: Western riding for a year or so and then English for two or
three years. I enjoyed doing English more so, and looked forward to the weekends
when I would be able to ride. During this time I had a horse named "Shadow".
He was a beautiful dark brown, almost black with a white diamond in the center
of his forehead. He reminded me a lot of the horse in the book "Black Stallion".
Shadow and I had a special bond. I would spend at least an hour after each session of riding grooming him and, of course, long talks. Although I was the one who did all the talking, I felt he knew what I was saying.
So, there you have it from Kimberly! A little personal background into another happy and helpful person here at Vibrant Life. If you have any questions for Kimberly, she can be reached over the phone of course, or by email:
Horses, puppies, strawberries, and vitamins: she has the answers!
