Karl Loren's Personal Messaging
I, Karl Loren, pledge that I will personally answer every personal eMail message received by me.
This is an extraordinary pledge!
Yet I have made this promise for more than 15 years and have kept it!
UNTIL I RETIRED.
I am still the owner of Vibrant Life, with my wife, Jean Ross, doing well along with me, as I write these words on February 5, 2009. I still spend more than 60 hours per week "working," although currently most of my time is spent on a massive research project -- one which may well take me some years before I am ready to publish results.
Since I am now 77, at this writing, and since I am retired, Mr. Clifford Woods is now in charge of Vibrant Life operations and has the title of Executive Director.
Normally any messages sent in on the "WriteToKarl" line from hundreds of links on my 100,000 web pages, those are now answered as I have directed.
I occasionally dip into the stream of incoming messages of this type to answer personally, and sometimes Mr. Woods will forward a message to me with a question on how I would reply.
So, you may get an answer from me personally, just on a random basis, or you may get a response from me when Mr. Woods asks me to accept some message for my personal attention.
Here are my RULES for whether or not I respond to a message and how I do that. These are the same rules I have had for many years, shown below as they have been for those many years, only indented and changed to blue color for distinguishing them from the new stuff.
There are few rules.
First, I do not usually respond to any "form messages." So, if you paste in something lengthy, even with a few lines of personal comment, I will probably not read the "paste in."
And, I do not usually respond to rude or profane messages.
I expect people who are asking me the favor of a response to be polite.
If they are not, I consider them hostile. I typically tell them my feelings on this very bluntly.
My lines of communication are "open" in a way that you have never seen anywhere on the planet. The free availability of "the guy," no matter what you may think of my credentials, is unheard of. This free availability could be easily abused, if I allowed it, by people wanting to sell me "magic water" or spout off their political comments.
Added in 2009: If you call the Vibrant Life Office, or send a message, asking for my personal eMail address, all the staff there know the contents of this page. If you convince them that your message does not violate any of MY rules they may give you my personal phone or my personal eMail address.
Some have been known to attempt to mislead the VL Staff, so I still get some messages, personally, that violate my rules for answering.
Sometimes they mislead my staff and claim that the "message is personal." They are the ones often trying to sell me something or get me to join their MLM _- I hate MLM's.
Thus, even if you do get my personal phone or eMail address, I might not respond, depending on how things go and depending on what is on this page.
I do not usually respond to messages trying to sell me something or trying to sell me ON anything.
I have several; research project going just now and have never lacked for stuff to investigate. Likewise, I do not usually look into something or investigate or research just because someone sends me a message about how urgent it might be.
If a person is a customer of Vibrant Life they are much more likely to be given my personal information than is a stranger.
When a skeptic comes onto my communication line, and abuses my willingness to respond to every personal message, he meets blunt and instant hostility here.
I do NOT apologize for this, because the very few who do abuse this free service cannot be allowed to stop it -- and that is how I view them -- as attempting to stop my free communication with the people who are polite.
I also do not expect to reason with such people. They write out of a fit of emotional turmoil that I do not care to solve for them. Logic does not work with such people.

Sometimes I am away from my office, and your answer would be delayed.
I am just starting to train others to answer the simple queries I get.
Added in 2009: That training is going well. Since I have written so many thousands of personal messages and have published so many thousands of web pages, it has been easy to train others to respond just as I would.
But, and you know it makes sense, if I am going to answer EVERY message, personally, it would be foolish to let them pile up. So, you will find, amazingly, that I often answer with minutes, and generally within one day.
I am not a doctor, and do not offer "medical advice," but I sure do offer "health advice."
I invite you to write to about ANYTHING -- as long as it is YOUR personal message. But, recognize that I am increasingly starting to apply my "advanced criteria" for how I will respond. Many write me questions which would require my going to some other web sites, to read stuff there.
Joe writes, "Dear Karl. I was just reading on www.xxxBigPromise.com that Dr. CCC says BBB. What is your opinion of that??"
I hardly ever respond to such by anything more than a polite note. CLICK HERE for more on this issue.

The Wednesday Letter for January 2002 was a very philosophical and emotional piece describing the death of my mother-in-law and also of my mother.
